One of the most cherished aspects of life in Litchfield County is a connection to our past. Some might say that the pace here is comfortably slow. Yet, thanks to recent economic challenges, even our local community has been unsettled by changes in its banking community.
With the merger of First National Bank of Litchfield into a much larger, Danbury-based competitor, we’ve lost an institution that dates back to the early 1800s.
We will miss our former colleagues and competitors. But we want to assure our customers, and the community, that Litchfield Bancorp is not part of this merger.
We are Litchfield’s last remaining hometown bank.
Litchfield Bancorp will remain locally governed and operated. Here are some other things that won’t change:
> As we have for 160 years, we will stay focused on serving your needs.
> We will remain a strong and independent mutual bank.
> Through our partnerships within the Connecticut Mutual Holding Company, we’ll continue to serve your personal or business banking needs.
> Our employees – from those you see in our branches to those who work behind the scenes – will also continue to provide you with the very highest level of service.
We’re proud to be Litchfield’s last remaining hometown bank. No matter what the future may bring, you can be sure that we will always do our best to have a positive impact in our community and in the lives of our customers.
